New filter to limit to hardcopy

You have told us you wanted to easily be able to filter searches to just hardcopy items in the Library (or exclude ebooks from search results). Quick Find now offers a new filter called Available in hardcopy that will allow you to easily find books and other items physically located in the Library.

Check out the Quick Find search help about using filters.

Find your QUT Readings list

A lot of students have asked that we make unit related textbooks and readings easier to find in Quick Find. Although we have more improvements to make, we have started by ensuring that if you now enter your unit code into Quick Find you will now find a link to your QUT Readings list.

When you find a peer-reviewed article in your search (and then click on the article title) you should now see even more links to related articles (where possible) including links to articles on a similar topic as well as links to articles from the reference list plus links to articles that have cited this paper.

Check out the Quick Find search help about finding related articles.

New Browse items search

Use this search to find items by title or author (and even subject term if your prefer). This option is limited to finding items held by the Library such as books and ebooks, DVDs and videos, journals, newspapers and other items. Please note it does not find articles.

If you miss the Classic catalogue we recommend you try this search!

New Find a journal search

Use this search to easily check if the Library has access to a specific journal and what years are available. It can also be used to find newspapers, magazines and other periodicals.

New Classroom resources search

Use this search to find hardcopy items in the Curriculum Collection, eTextbooks from the JacPLUS Library database plus juvenile fiction and non-fiction ebooks.

Requesting scans of hardcopy material

In addition to placing holds and intercampus requests, you will now be able to request scans of articles from print journals and scans of book chapters from material held in the Library (within copyright restrictions of course!).

New look My loans and holds

Your current loans and requests will now be displayed in a more user friendly manner, making it easy to check loans, view hold and scan requests, plus see any outstanding Library penalties and messages.
