Services for the public
QUT Library welcomes members of the community to its libraries. QUT Library offers a wide variety of freely available facilities and services.
QUT Library is open to all members of the public and membership is not needed to use services and resources in the library. QUT Library cannot provide access to the wider internet and so you will not be able to log into your personal email account or link to sites outside the university's network.
Databases available in the Library
A number of databases may be accessed by the general public from within QUT Library buildings, and some freely available databases may be accessed from anywhere (at home, work or in QUT Library).
Printing, copying, binding and laminating
Members of the public can receive a guest card for use at printers from QUT Printing Services (QPS) service counters. They will need to then register for a guest account to activate the card. Credit is added to the guest card with QUTPay or at a QPS service counter. The guest card will allow members of the public to use the following services on all campuses:
Members of the public can also access specialised printing services including:
- Small format printing (high quality)
- Large format printing (high quality)
- Large format plan printing and copying (non-smudging)
- 3D printing
- Foamcore mounting
- 3D printing
- CD and DVD duplication.
Specialised print jobs must be submitted online and can be collected from a QPS Service Centre at GP (level 2, V block) or KG (level 2, D block).
Members of the public can also visit a QPS Service Centre at GP (level 2, V block) or KG (level 2, D block) and access the following services:
- cost-effective gloss laminating from business card to A0 sizes.

QUT Library Subject Guides
QUT Library Subject Guides suggest books, databases and other useful resources to help you get started finding information on your topic.
QUT cite|write is the guide to citing, referencing and writing academically at QUT. QUT cite provides specific citing and referencing examples and QUT write provides eight specific writing guides.
QUT ePrints is a web-accessible repository of research outputs created by QUT staff and postgraduate students. Whenever possible, the outputs deposited in QUT ePrints by their creators can be downloaded or viewed online, free of charge.
QUT Community Collection for grant seekers, fundraisers and philanthropists
As a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, QUT Library provides public access to the QUT Community Collection for grant seekers, fundraisers and philanthropists, which includes grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center's electronic databases.
