Services for the public
QUT Library welcomes members of the community to its libraries. QUT Library offers a wide variety of freely available facilities and services.
QUT Library is open to all members of the public and membership is not needed to use services and resources in the library. QUT Library cannot provide access to the wider internet and so you will not be able to log into your personal email account or link to sites outside the university's network.
Search tools available in the Library
A number of library search tools may be accessed by the general public from within QUT Library buildings, and some freely available search tools may be accessed from anywhere (at home, work or in QUT Library).
Printing, copying, binding and laminating in the Library
Members of the public can access the following services on all campuses:
- self-service copying with a Casual Copy Card or at coin-operated copiers
- use of self-service binding equipment at no cost
- specialised printing services including: poster, large format and 3D printing; plan printing and copying; 3D printing; scanning; laminating; foamcore mounting; CD and DVD burning; card, adhesive and OHT prints.
Members of the public can also visit a QPS Service Centre at GP Library (level 2, V block) or KG Library (level 2, R block) and access the following services:
- cost-effective gloss laminating from business card to A0 sizes
- purchase binding materials such as covers, thermal strips or plastic combs.

QUT Library Subject Guides
QUT Library Subject Guides suggest books, databases and other useful resources to help you get started finding information on your topic.
Studywell is an online suite of learning tools, templates and activities for students to increase study effectiveness, and support academic performance and achievement. All Studywell resources are available for use under a Creative Commons (Attribution, Non-Commercial, Share Alike) license.
QUT cite|write is your guide to citing, referencing and writing academically at QUT. QUT cite provides specific citing and referencing examples and QUT write provides eight specific writing guides.
QUT ePrints is a web-accessible repository of research outputs created by QUT staff and postgraduate students. Whenever possible, the outputs deposited in QUT ePrints by their creators can be downloaded or viewed online, free of charge.
QUT Community Collection for grant seekers, fundraisers and philanthropists
As a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, QUT Library provides public access to the QUT Community Collection for grant seekers, fundraisers and philanthropists, which includes grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center's electronic databases.
