Doing my placement at QUT was wonderful. Everyone was really friendly, helpful and patient. Doing my placement there gave me the confidence to apply for new jobs, and now I am working at the State Library of Queensland!
Jeanne
My placement was the most valuable part of my degree so far, enabling me to translate what I'd been taught into real world experience. I was specifically drawn to QUT Library because - in addition to providing specialised support to students, teaching staff and researchers - it prioritised creating a positive, inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages open conversation and innovation. I was exposed to activities and staff in a variety of roles, and with different skillsets and knowledge that made clear how important it is to engage with stakeholders, and build relationships within the organisation, with peers and industry professionals in pursuit of modern, effective services. My time at QUT gave me the opportunity to crystallise my professional interests and goals in the Information and Library service sector, and to adopt a more wholistic approach that appreciates how the QUT Library team aim to empower students with skills and understanding that improves their educational experience but also prepares them for the workplace and to be responsible, engaged 21st century citizens.

- your placement learning goals
- any assessment requirements for your placement

What happens next?
We will contact you by phone or email with an initial answer. If we feel that we can accommodate your placement proposal, we will schedule a meeting to discuss a placement plan in more detail. The meeting can be in person or virtual.
Only after this meeting will we be able to confirm a placement.
Once the placement is confirmed, your Placement Supervisor will maintain contact with you leading up to and during your placement with QUT Library.
