A Liaison Librarian is designated to work with Faculties and Divisions as a link to an extensive range of services by the Library and the wider Division of Technology, Information and Learning Support. The liaison service is available to all QUT staff and postgraduate students.
Information consultancy
Liaison librarians:
- advise you on Library services and introduce you to specific services to support your teaching and research information needs
- offer one-on-one consultations on resources and sources of information
- assist with basic and advanced information queries and search strategies
- connect you with people and services in other Departments of TILS
Information resource management
Liaison librarians:
- locate, evaluate and select new print and electronic resources
- maintain a collection relevant to your teaching and research information needs
- profile the Library's collections in research and coursework areas to help you with RQF requirements and professional accreditation rounds
Information literacy development
Liaison librarians:
- collaborate with you on curriculum design to embedd information literacy education in ccoursework programs
- teach information skills components within units and courses
- design professional development programs to meet the information needs of particular groups
- particpate in Faculty and Schoolscommittees and working parties to provide specialist advice
