QUT students and staff can request delivery of items which are not held by QUT Library. Our document delivery service will attempt to locate and supply items from another library or commercial document supplier. All requests must be related to your teaching, research, study or employment at QUT.

Who is eligible?
All QUT staff (including Gold Card and Visiting Scholars) plus students enrolled in the following courses are eligible to place document delivery requests.
- Honours
- Masters
- PhD
- Graduate Diploma
- Graduate Certificate
- External Postgraduates
All other students (including undergraduates) can place a request however they must obtain permission from their lecturer first.
All students can freely request books from participating BONUS+ libraries or from Griffith University without requiring lecturer permission.
Placing a request
QUT staff (including Gold Card and Visiting Scholars) and eligible postgraduate students (see section above for details) can place requests using the following online forms:
- Request an article
- Request a book, video, standard etc. (and other whole works)
- Request book chapter
All other students (including undergraduates) are required to print out, sign and take the following form to the Learning and Research Desk at any campus library.
- Request items from other libraries (this form requires authorization by a lecturer)
All QUT staff and students can also request articles and books from the Griffith University request service.
How do I check the progress of my request?
You can view your requests by logging in to My Library Profile. Under the heading View your borrowing details, select x Interlibrary loan request(s).
Your requests will only be visible via My Library Profile when Document Delivery staff have actioned your request. This may take up to one working day after the submission of the online request form.

|---|---|
| Awaiting arrival | Your request is being located or is in transit. |
| Ready for pick up | The item is waiting to be collected from a Learning and Research Desk. This status only applies to material obtained on loan, such as books and videos. |
If an item disappears from your list of requests check your email for notification of delivery or cancellation.
Delivery times
The table below lists estimated delivery times only. Times will vary and are dependent on the type of material being requested, accuracy of the request details you have provided, availability of material, supplier workflows and the time spent in transit.

Downloading, collecting and returning items
Articles and book chapters
Documents are delivered electronically where possible. You will be notified via email when they are available. The email will provide you with information to enable access to the document stored on a secure web server.
When copyright or licensing restrictions prevent electronic delivery, the document will either be sent to you via internal mail or held at the Learning and Research Desk of your home campus library for collection.

Books, videos and other items
Items obtained on loan from another library, such as books and videos, will be held at the Learning and Research Desk of your home campus library. You will be notified via email when they are ready for collection. You are required to present your QUT ID card when borrowing the item.
