Alumni Library Information Service (ALIS) membership

For QUT graduates and alumni, the ALIS membership scheme provides discount borrowing services and off campus access to a limited number of online journals through selected database services. View the list of ALIS databases available off campus.

Gold Card membership

For retired QUT staff with 10 years or more of equivalent full time service. Gold Card members have a staff level equivalent of borrowing privileges and access to interlibrary loan and document delivery services. Library members are able to borrow books and other materials from all branch libraries but membership does not provide internet access, e-mail or access to the library's research databases. However, all visitors are able to use a selection of databases for use within the library.

Reciprocal membership

For staff and students at other Australian universities whose university library is a participant of the University Library Australia membership scheme. Charges may apply to students of universities that have a Brisbane presence, campus or study centre. Memberships are valid for the current academic year up to the 28th of February of the following year. A current student ID card, or photo ID, and proof of enrolment or employment from your home institution is required when you apply. Please note: Students enrolled at participating universities via Open Universities Australia are not eligible for QUT Reciprocal Membership.

Library members are able to borrow books and other materials from all branch libraries but membership does not provide internet access, e-mail or access to the library's research databases. However, all visitors are able to use a selection of databases for use within the library.

Associate membership

For members of the general community including business, industry and QUT affiliates (QUT Student Guild employees, QUT Chaplains, etc.). Library members are able to borrow books and other materials from all branch libraries but membership does not provide internet access, e-mail or access to the library's research databases. However, all visitors are able to use a selection of databases for use within the library.

Associate Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of payment and can be used only by the holder of the membership card whose name appears on the card. This card is not transferable.

Individual membership $165.00
Individual - Healthcare card holders $55.00
QUT Student Guild employees, QUT Council members, Fellows of QUT, QUT Chaplains and external members of QUT Committees Free
Corporate - 3 borrower ID cards for the same company or organisation $495.00

Applying for membership

Applications can be lodged at any branch Learning and research Desk. Personal identification including proof of home address is required. Payment types accepted are cash, credit or eftpos.

Educational Associate membership

Educational associate membership can be purchased by educational training providers offering university level courses for their staff and students. Library members are able to borrow books and other materials from all branch libraries but membership does not provide internet access, e-mail or access to the library's research databases. However, all visitors are able to use a selection of databases for use within the library.

Membership fees

Membership are for 12 months ($110.00 including GST) from the date of payment.

Applying for membership

Staff and students can not apply or pay for the membership as an individual. Applications are received from the institution or their representative. The borrowing cards are returned to the educational provider along with a QUT Library invoice.
