Introduction to mechatronics and measurement systems 2nd ed. (2003) David G. Alciatore, Michael B. Histand McGraw-Hill |
Provides comprehensive and accessible coverage of the evolving field of mechatronics for mechanical, electrical and aerospace engineering majors. The authors present a concise review of electrical circuits, solid-state devices, digital circuits, and motors- all of which are fundamental to understanding mechatronic systems. This second edition features new coverage of microcontroller architecture, programming and interfacing. Mechatronics design considerations are presented throughout the text, and in "Design Example" features. The text's numerous illustrations, examples, class discussion items, and chapter questions & exercises provide an opportunity to understand and apply mechatronics concepts to actual problems encountered in engineering practice. This text has been tested over several years to ensure accuracy. A new Book Website includes problem solutions for instructors, MathCAD files for book examples, Class Discussion Item follow-up, and extensive supplementary resources on mechatronics and microcontrollers. |

A-Z guide to electrical/electronic and mechanical engineering design data. Sourcebook of electro-mechanical engineering design data with new discussions of engineering economics and elastomer springs. and a bounty of new drawings. The know-how you need to develop parts, mechanisms, and assemblies, with thorough explanations of: *Properties, uses, and strength of engineering materials *Machine element design and mechanisms *Basic pneumatics, hydraulics, air handling and heat *Fastener and joining techniques *Layout and fabrication practices, including castings, moldings, extrusions and powder metal technology *Finishes and plating practices *Dimensioning and tolerancing practices. A compendium of practical, on-the-job information on all aspects of electromechanical design, revised and expanded (with some 400 pages of additional material) to reflect the latest technological advances in the field. Consolidates enough basic and application-specific design data and procedures to allow electromechanical engineers to initiate many of the design calculations and procedures required to begin the development of mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts, mechanisms, assemblies, and processes. |

Mechatronic systems : modelling and simulation with HDLs (2003) George Pelz Wiley |
Describes how to model and simulate systems that integrate electronics, mechanics, and information technology, whether ordinary sized or so small they are called micromechatronic or microelectromechanical systems. Discusses the principles for modelling and simulating electronics and mechanics, simulating mechantronics in particular, the most important constructs of digital and analog hardware description languages, considering software and mechanics in those languages, and case studies that demonstrate the techniques. |

Opto-mechatronic systems handbook : techniques and applications (2002) edited by Hyungsuck Cho CRC Press |
Written to eliminate the boundaries between the optics and mechatronics research and engineering communities, this book presents definitions, fundamentals, and applications of opto-mechatronics, shows how optical systems and devices can be integrated with mechatronic systems at all stages, and demonstrates the role and synergistic effects of optical systems in overall system performance. Information on optical engineering is integrated with material on information technology and mechanical and electronic engineering, and optical components are examined from the perspective of systems technology. Applications discussed include robotics, data storage, monitoring, and micro-assembly. |

Locating the source document
To locate the full text of the cited document (commonly a journal article or conference paper) search the QUT Library catalogue (and perhaps other library catalogues) for the source publication. The source publication is usually either a periodical title, or a published conference proceeding.
QUT library holds / subscribes to only a selection of the source publications indexed by services such as INSPEC and Compendex.
Methods of searching for the source publication can vary. Commonly, you search by title, corporate author (useful for conferences) or keyword.
A quick, initial (but not a 100% reliable) search can be done using the international standard numbers (ISSN or ISBN). Note that library catalogues list only periodical titles, never the titles of articles. Each periodical title has a unique, eight digit identifying ISSN, which can be searched in the library catalogue.
Subscribed periodical titles are listed in our catalogue, regardless of whether they are print copies shelved on level 4 of the Gardens Point Library, or if they can be downloaded from electronic datasets over the Internet.
Note that if the source publication is an IEEE or IEE journal, transaction, magazine, conference proceeding, or a current IEEE standard you should be able to obtain the full text in electronic PDF format from IEEE Xplore.
