Relevant databases

To look through issues of journals to find relevant articles is too time consuming. Use electronic databases/indexing and abstracting services to find periodical (also called journals or magazines) articles, conference papers, etc on your topic.

Database Description
ABS Statistics ABS Statistics provides access to Australian Bureau of Statistics publication from 1998 onwards.
ECONLit Provides bibliographic citations, with selected abstracts, to the international literature on economics since 1969.
EIU CountryData Produced by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EUI), publishers of The Economist, this service is an analytical database of worldwide economic indicators and forecasts. The service allows you to compare 117 countries across 271 economic series.
Source OECD Provides access to all electronic publications of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), including themed studies, monographs, 24 ejournals and statistics databases on the economic status of nations of the world.

Most databases and print indexing and abstracting services provide reference information and a summary (abstract) of the journal article you have found.

To locate the full-text of the cited document (commonly a journal article or conference paper) search the QUT Library catalogue (and perhaps other library catalogues) for the source publication. The source publication is usually either a periodical title, or a published conference proceeding. QUT library holds / subscribes to only a selection of the source publications indexed by services.

Methods of searching for the source publication can vary. Commonly, you search by title, corporate author (useful for conferences) or keyword.

Subscribed periodical titles are listed in our catalogue, regardless of whether they are print copies or available electronically via the Internet.
