In this demonstration you will learn how to find a peer reviewed or scholarly article.
Some databases allow peer reviewed or scholarly articles to be searched for by clicking peer reviewed or scholarly within the advanced search screen.
For example, you can search for peer reviewed or scholarly articles within the Academic Search Elite database.
First, connect to the Academic Search Elite database.
Then, type in your search term and select "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals".
Some databases do not have a scholarly or peer reviewed search option.
When this occurs, Ulrichs can be used to check if a journal is scholarly or peer reviewed.
For example, to double check that Anthropology and Medicine is an academic or scholarly journal, copy the journal title and connect to Ulrichs.
Then click on the "Advanced Search" tab. Paste the journal title and click search.
To view more information about the journal, click on the journal title. The document type field on the "Basic Information" tab indicates Athropology and Medicine is an academic or scholarly journal.
Now you know how to find peer reviewed or scholarly articles.
