Osiris contains financial information on 55,000 listed/delisted companies worldwide (43,000 are non-US Companies)
Use Osiris to find*General company and & industry information;*Industry reports
In this demonstration, you will learn to find annual reports by searching using Osiris database
Begin at the library home page
Select databases
Search for the database title
Click here to connect
Important!! Osiris can be slow because the database is so big!
Important!! Don't use the 'back' button in your browser or you will lose your data
To begin, choose a geographic location
There are 17,933 reports for companies in North America
Click OK to continue
This page shows us our search so far.....
Now we need to choose an industry
Let's try Banks/Insurances/Industry
Click on the '+' to expand
Select an industry
And OK
There are 1,920 reports from IT companies in North America
To view a list of these companies, select List
Select a company to view reports
Reports for this company are listed on the left hand side
Expand to see available summary reports
Here is the Financial report for Google
Head back
You can also view a list of Interim and Annual reports
You can go back to the List tab at any time to choose another company
Click on the link to look at the industry report
You can export your results to Microsoft Excel.
The process followed in this demonstration can be repeated for other countries. For example, you can go back and search for countries from other cultural regions (Anglo American/Nordic, Germanic/Latin, Asian or Eastern European)
