This demonstration will show you how to choose a database.
From the QUT Library home page click on By subject.
Choose your Faculty, or the subject area you think your topic will be under. Our topic is ethics of gambling.
Then choose a narrower subject area.
Key Resources within your subject area are listed at the top of the page.
If you scroll down you can see the full list of related databases.
This is the brief record for a database.
This is the title of the database. Clicking on the title link will connect you to the database.
In this example, Academic Search Elite is the title of the database.
EBSCOhost is the name of the platform or interface. There are many databases hosted on the EBSCOhost platform.
This is a brief description of the database. Use the description to determine whether the database is relevant to your topic.
This icon indicates that the majority of articles in the database are fulltext.
Click on the Full details link to read more about the database.
Access:
- Describes access restrictions on the databases.
- Most databases require a current QUT-Access username and password.
- Some databases are restricted to staff and post-graduate students.
