In this demonstration, you will learn how to find newspaper articles on the social issue of road safety using the Factiva.com database

Factiva.com is an interdisciplinary news, current affairs and research database providing access to nearly 8000 publications, including local and international newspapers, newswires, magazines and journal sources

You can find extensive company information, including financial data for more than 42,500 worldwide companies (from Reuters Investor) as well as access to historical market data and interactive charting

Begin at the Library home page

Select Databases

Type in Factiva.com

Click to connect

To search a particular source, select the Source button

Let's look for articles in the Courier Mail

Click on the arrow to add the code to the Free Textbox (above)

We can now add keywords to the search using Boolean operators

You will need to put brackets around “road safety” to search as a phrase

We can change the date range to include the last year

Ensure Duplicates is on

Our results show 13 articles

The Discovery Pane shows information pertaining to the search
