Branch libraries provide a variety of computing and multimedia facilities, including
- student PC labs
- catalogue terminals
- wired and wireless laptop access
- audiovisual equipment
- adaptive technology labs (Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point)
The information below provides an overview of the arrangements in the libraries. However, the specific facilities provided in each branch library varies; so please check what's available at your local branch when you next visit or, alternatively, you can browse the branch library floor plans.
Student PC labs
All branch libraries have Student PC labs providing networked PCs offering access to:
- Internet
- Student email (Webmail)
- Library catalogue
- Library databases
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Adobe Acrobat reader for PDF documents
- Playing CDs and DVDs (you must bring your own headphones)
- Reading and writing to floppy disk or portable USB drive
- Writing to CD
- Networked printing
Student PC labs within the libraries are only available during opening hours. However, there are many other Faculty, central and 24 hour PC labs available on all campuses.

Catalogue terminals
Catalogue terminals, such as the one pictured on the right, are located on all levels throughout the library branches. They provide access to:

Laptop access
Wireless laptops may be used throughout the library buildings. Wireless areas in the buildings are marked on the floor plans.
Power points and ports are also available at work tables and carrels in study areas. Networked cables may be borrowed from the Loans Desk.
You can also borrow a laptop for up to 4 hours from any branch library.
Audiovisual and multimedia equipment
Equipment for viewing and listening to audiovisual material such as videos, CDs and DVDs, is available in all the branch libraries. Please note: you must supply your own headphones.
Microfilm and microfiche readers and printers are available for use with documents stored in these formats eg back issues of newspapers. They are usually available in the QPS area.

Adaptive technology labs
The Adaptive Technology Laboratories are equipped with specialized computing equipment, enabling students with a disability to independently access the various electronic media essential for academic success.
