There are several common reasons why you may have trouble accessing a library database:

  1. If you are a current QUT staff or student, your QUT Access password may have expired. Login to Computer Accounts and change your QUT Access password.
  2. Access to the database may be limited or restricted. Check the database record to see if there are limits on access.
  3. Some home or workplace networks may not be compatible with database access. See Off-campus access for more information and other access options.
  4. The database may be experiencing technical difficulties. If we are aware of a problem, there will be an alert in the database description.
  5. You may have mistyped your QUT Access Username and/or password. Close all open browser windows and try again.
  6. Your browser may have saved an incorrect password (this may become a problem when you change your QUT-Access password). To clear the saved passwords, you need to clear the cookies in your browser.
